I admit I was skeptical about it at first. Why sell a product for $1 if you feel like you could just as easily sell it for $29?
But the thing I didn’t consider back then was that when a customer buys a $1 product from you, a few things happen.
First of all, you get $1, and the customer gets a product.
Duh, that part is obvious.
But here’s the less obvious part:
The customer becomes a buyer. They’ve spent money on your product and therefore would have a much easier time spending money again on another product.
The customer also shows interest in the specific niche your product is about, and you can then upsell them with other, more expensive products that go into even more detail in that niche.
But what matters most of all is:
Free stuff has no value in most customers' minds. Therefore, when they invest even as little as $1, they'll be much more likely to actually go through and use your product.
If you gave away a free product, they may never look at it, and thus they won't love what you're doing. They may never even look at your emails, click your links, or buy from you.
Just $1 can make a huge difference in perception. Now your product will have value in their eyes. They invested in it. They'll go through it, see what you offer, and buy more.
It’s a great way to test the waters with very low risk.
